For those who have never dived before or who just want to get a 'dive license' this course will take you through the basics, from how to assemble the gear to the many ways to improve your comfort in the underwater world.
The aim of this class is to prepare you for Open Water-Part 2, the Open Water Checkout Dives.
After your classroom and pool sessions you must still complete 4 scuba dives in open water with an instructor. Here we will revise the skills you will have learnt in Part 1. You will learn some basic navigation and will get comfortable in open water.

Advanced
With SSI, advanced diver status is awarded when you have logged 25 dives and upon completion of four specialty courses. You can choose any four from below. (If you completed Drysuit and/or Nitrox from the section above those cout towards the four).
This class will teach you proper dive planning for deep dives (Maximum 100 feet), gas management techniques and use of sling bottle (or pony bottle) as a redundant air supply. One classroom session and one day of boat diving.
The Northeast has a fantastic collection of wrecks, and this course provides a great introduction to local wreck diving. You will learn proper boat diving procedures, wreck navigation using a reel, and lift bag assent techniques.

Instructor Larry Cohen is a professional photographer whose work has appeared in Immersed Magazine, Northeast Dive News, and Audubon Field Guides. This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 150fsw/50msw when taught with Advanced Recreational Trimix. Deco gasses up to 100% O2 will be used. The most common equipment requirements, gear setups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures (including oxygen and nitrox) are presented. This Program is designed to train those who wish to dive to depths between 130 fsw (39 msw) and 200 fsw (60 msw), but who do not wish to breathe air below 130 fsw (39 msw). Trimix affords a means of reducing narcosis on dives to such depths.
Helium and diving were made for each other. You don't have to be a super tech diver to enjoy the benefits of helium. Breathing high partial pressures of Nitrogen is dangerous and hard on the body, so why do it? Replacing nitrogen with helium is a reasonable thing to do for single tank dives as shallow as 100'. What helium does for the 140-170 foot range (previously "deep air") is nothing short of miraculous. You remember the dive, you perform well under stress and you feel better after the dive. Helium is our friend :-)
This Program is designed to train divers to conduct dives to depths between 100 fsw (30 msw) and at the instructors option upto 170 fsw (51 msw) using custom blend breathing gas mixtures; and to provide greater understanding of custom blend
breathing gas mixtures, a complete knowledge of the limits of any EANx mixture, and the use of EANx and oxygen for decompression.
This course examines the use of EAN 21 through 50% (oxygen) for optimal mixes to a depth of 130fsw/45msw. The object of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN 21 through 50% (oxygen) for dives not requiring staged decompression. (Decompression techniques may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor).

The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 150fsw/50msw unless taught in conjunction with advanced nitrox, Extended Range or Advanced Wreck Courses. The most common equipment requirements, gear setups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures (including oxygen and nitrox) are presented.
