Learn SCUBA with Village Divers

Open Water Certification is the course for a non-diver to earn your dive licence. Here's what's involved in our 'Home Study Program'.

  •     Stop into the store and pick up a set of reading materials.
  •     At home go through the textbook and do the open book exam, this all takes about 6 to 8 hours.
  •     Come in and do one academic class.
  •     Come to the pool and learn how to dive.
  •     Come back and practice as many times as you like until you certify for no extra charge.

At this point you just need to complete four dives in open water with an instructor. Those you can do with us or we can issue a referral. This is a form stating that you have done the class and pool work with us and are ready to do your 'checkout dives'. You can take this on holidays and do your dives there.

A sample schedule would look something like this.

  •     Academic Class Sat. 6pm - 10pm
  •     Pool Session: Sun. 6pm - 10pm
  •     Pool Session: Wed. 9pm - 12am

Classes are small and personalized. Student to instructor ratio limit is 4:1. If you need extra training in the class or pool, we will gladly provide it to you @ no extra charge.
